The 39th annual Virginia Wine Month celebrates harvest, local wine and the people and places shaping Virginia Wine
RICHMOND, Va., Oct. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Harvest is underway, a new vintage is taking shape and Virginia Wine Country is entering one of its most anticipated seasons. October marks the 39th annual Virginia Wine Month, inviting wine lovers to experience Virginia Wine where it is grown and made.

Virginia Wine Month is a chance to experience the season from vineyard to table. Explore harvest celebrations, dinners, tastings and special events, discover a new variety, or pair Virginia Wine with local food at winery restaurants and dining destinations. It is a month to taste something new and experience the places behind the wine.
"Virginia Wine Month is a celebration of everything coming together at harvest," said Virginia Wine Board Chair Megan Seibel. "It is a chance to recognize the people behind each bottle, experience the character of Virginia's wine regions and support the wineries, restaurants and businesses that bring Virginia Wine to the table."
Virginia Wine Tasting Passes offer another way to explore throughout October, with special offers, bonus rewards, and giveaways available across several statewide trails. Participants can taste award-winning wines along the Gold Medal Wine Trail, while additional passes highlight women shaping the industry, dog-friendly destinations, regional wine trails, Virginia's native Norton grape and the state's growing cider industry.
October 17 also marks Harvest Party, a statewide celebration encouraging wineries, restaurants, retailers and wine lovers to gather around Virginia Wine and food. Events and experiences will take place across the state, creating opportunities to celebrate the season close to home or plan a fall visit to Virginia Wine Country.
At the center of the celebration is the Virginia Wine Harvest Party Cookbook, featuring recipes designed to bring Virginia Wine to the table. From hosting a Harvest Party at home to pairing a favorite bottle with a seasonal dish, the cookbook offers another way to celebrate what is grown, made and served across Virginia.
